So the 7th annual awards night saw over 300 people in attendance with 14 bands represented on the night in addition to the four bands that played as part of the evening.

The evening opened to a thunderous performance from 'Mad About Tomorrow' who having won 'Best Newcomer' in 2011 have been nominated for at least one award every year since! Their three song set comprised of The Four Tops' 'Acapulco', Blame It On The Boogie and then a very clever segway into the boy band hit 'Everybody Get Up' from 5ive which bought the house to a rapturous applause.

After the first 5 awards, it was the turn of The Spitfires, who narrowly missed out on 'Best Overall Band' to entertain and 'entertain' they did! Opening with a blistering cover of Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' before an equally superb cover of Queen's 'Somebody To Love' and finish with a unique, rocky cover of Rihanna's 'We Found Love' which once again bought the audience to their feet in ovation.

Before the final award (Best Overall Band) was presented by the legendary 'Phil Rostance' who has himself won the award no fewer than three times, Capital FM's very own Richard McGraw, took to the stage to talk briefly about the challenges that 'Live Music' faces in the UK in 2015, a sentiment echoed by the industry that had gathered.

After the 'White Rivers' had been crowned, Phil was joined by his band and treated the guests to a 90m set of classics before being joined by Simon Hopp (The White Rivers) and Isaac Anderson (The English Country Gentlemen) for an epic version of the party song of the year, 'Uptown Funk'!
